Technological Assessment
The Need
Even the most patent-savvy innovators sometimes have trouble identifying everything that might merit patent protection. In some cases, potentially valuable inventions are overlooked. In other cases, the patenting process is started too late, and the right to protection is lost. Innovations that might otherwise be an important asset are thus allowed to fall into the public domain.
The Service
Technological assessment is the process of finding patentable innovations in a company or individual's existing stable of technologies, and of establishing practices and procedures that allow new innovations to be assessed quickly for patentability and market value. Each product and business area is evaluated for patentability and (in consultation with the client) for its potential value.
